Think of lessons that you participated in as students that involved using information or skills from at least two different subjects?

In fifth grade, we played the stock market game. We had daily practice with math and decimals, but also got experience with using a newspaper and learning about how the stock market worked in general.

I fifth grade, My teacher, Mr. Cosmos, Made references to poetry during science. He would say, "A rose, is a rose, IS A ROSE!". He did this in order to point out that beauty is found in the most common objects. Sometimes we are disillusioned through the banality of commonality. Then we walked in the local woods as a class and did nature observations.

In order to teach about water displacement my teacher filled up a trash barrel with water. We measured how much water was going into the bucket and how much water was left in the bucket, after someone sat in it. This involved science and math. We wrote about what we thought would happen VS what really happened, making Language Arts also integrated.

In college I had to write a program to create geometric shapes on the computer. I had to use my math skills and my computer skills to complete this assignment. It made writing the program more interesting because it wasn't just dry language

In science lab classes mathmatical equations are quite often used.
In social studies and history classes data may be set up in graphs (bar, line, etc) which is a skill taught in math.

In sixth grade science I had to build a bridge out of toothpicks but we had to use our math skills to calculate the cost of materials, or art skills to design the bridge, our literacy skills to write up a report, and our science and logic skills to figure out the best way to build it. It was done in groups so we had to use our cooperation skills.

In a dance class in college, we used movement to act out stories and plays. We also recreated natural phenoms ie the parts of a tree, characteristics of different animals form our environment. It was fun!

In the sixth grade we played a geography game. We were shown an area on on map and we had to identify the country. We were also required to spell it correctly to get more points. If we could offer a fact about the country we were given more points. This combined geography, spelling, and social studies.

In sixth grade, we played this game and I cannot remember the name of it, but it was a map of countries. Each team would be identified as a country. Each country needed to take care of their needs. This entailed government, money, trade, population, etc. We used a variety of learning tecniques. (writing, math, history, cooperative learning, etc)
